POSTPONED: PhD Final Seminar - Between Risk and Legal Accountability. Law and the Regulation of Safety Norms in European Civil Aviation Maintenance

PhD candidates at the Sociology of Law Department hold three seminars during the period of education: a start-up seminar, a mid seminar, and a final seminar. Participation in seminars is an essential part of the PhD education to fully reach the learning outcomes. The seminars are always in English.
This seminar is postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
John Woodlock, PhD Candidate at the Sociology of Law Department, Lund University
My research focuses on the field of European Union (EU) civil aviation and the profession and professionalism of licensed aircraft maintenance engineers working in Europe. In particular, my PhD project explores, from a socio-legal perspective, the complexity and interplay between legal norms and legal forms in relation to EU regulations and their organizational application within the European aircraft maintenance sector. In focus are professional norms, law, legality, and safety as they are understood and experienced in this sector.
