RÄSE01, The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, Children's Rights, and Global Health, 7.5 credits

The course provides a basis and preconditions to constructively and critically reflect on the interplay between global health, the Convention of the Rights of the Child, and different international and national norm supporting structures. The course offers basic knowledge of the contents of the Convention of the Rights of the Child and global health, and also discusses the interplay between the Convention on the Rights of the Child and global health. Furthermore, the course discusses the importance of the Convention for the development of children's rights and living conditions, policies, strategies and laws.

The Convention of the Rights of the Child was admitted by the UN General Assembly 1989. The convention has had importance for the development of children's rights, living conditions, policies, strategies and laws in many countries around the world. Also, Agenda 2030 is of importance for the realisation of children's rights and living conditions around the world. There is a number of different international organisations with assignments promoting global health such as WHO and UNICEF.

The teaching consists of lectures, seminars, exercises and supervision. The course is assessed on the basis of an individual written assignment and an oral presentation.
