PhD candidates at the Sociology of Law Department hold three seminars during their education - a start-up seminar, a mid-seminar, and a final seminar. Participation in seminars is essential to PhD education in order to reach learning outcomes fully. The seminars are always in English.
Revolving doors to the private sector?
A sociolegal study on top state and region officials' transitions to the private sector and their regulation
Heraclitos Muhire's PhD project looks at the transitions of key officials from state and region to the private sector in Sweden and the regulation of these transitions, both historically and contemporarily. The project is divided into three sub-studies: first is a historical-legal study on the regulation of transitions from key positions from the public sector to the private sector, with emphasis on conflict of interests. Then the study maps the transitions from key positions in the government, public agencies and the regions. Finally, the project investigates the implementation of current regulations of ministers and state secretaries’ transitions to the private sector. The project is funded by the Swedish Research Council.
Heraclitos Muhire is a PhD candidate at the Sociology of Law Department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s degree in sociology of law from Lund University.
