Visitors' Programme

Academic visitors are an important part of the Sociology of Law Department’s daily activities and we make an effort to integrate our visitors into the intellectual and social life of both the Department and Lund University.

We provide all visitors with a workspace in a shared office and access to internet connections, university libraries, seminars, and lectures. Our visitors are considered full members of the Department’s community and are invited to join all academic and social activities.

We expect accepted visitors to participate in department seminars and workshops and to give one or more research presentations. The Sociology of Law Department has no funding opportunities, so we expect our visitors to finance their travel, housing and subsistence. Application procedure

Applications are discussed at the Department’s Research Collegium which meets twice per semester. The Research Collegium will assign a host for the visitor. To be taken into consideration we will need the following information:

  • Name and contact details
  • CV (max 2 pages)
  • Publication list (max 2 pages)
  • Period of the visit
  • Short description of your work (max 250 words)
  • What research you want to do while visiting the Department (max 250 words)
  • Reasons why you want to visit the Department (max 250 words)
  • Confirmation that you can finance your stay

Application deadline

Applications are considered by the Department’s Research Council once per semester, in February and September. You can submit your application any time during the year, however, apply at least one semester ahead of your intended visit. All applications will be acknowledged and considered at the next semester's deadline. Our application deadlines are by midday CET on the following days:

  • Second Monday in February
  • Second Monday in September
