3rd International Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium
30-31 October 2025 in Lund, Sweden
As the leading global conference on queer asylum, this landmark event will bring together activists, academics, and those with lived experience to engage with the pressing issues shaping LGBTIQ+ asylum today critically. This year, we invite contributions on topics including, but not limited to:
- The impact of far-right discourses on borders and migration policies
- Transnational activism and resistance
- Decolonial approaches to LGBTIQ+ asylum
- Participatory research with LGBTIQ+ people seeking asylum
- Legal frameworks and policies affecting LGBTIQ+ people seeking asylum
- Multi-country comparative analysis of asylum practices
- South-to-South LGBTIQ+ asylum experiences
- Healthcare access and challenges for LGBTIQ+ people seeking asylum
- LGBTIQ+ asylum in media and literature
- The role of technology and social media in asylum systems
