Socio-legal study on the public’s sense of justice and criminal injuries compensation. A follow-up.

The research project ”Socio-legal study on the public’s sense of justice and criminal injuries compensation. A follow-up.” It is a longitudinal study in which a few central results from the PhD dissertation “Socio-legal study on the public’s sense of justice and criminal injuries compensation” is followed up after approximately ten years. The aim is primarily to investigate how survey respondents appraise the monetary value of different kinds of criminal offences to make relevant comparisons with the compensation for violation of personal integrity that is paid out to the victim. Comparisons of the survey results are possible by applying the same method design as in the previous study.

The research project is conducted in cooperation with The Swedish Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority and is financed by the foundation “Ulla V Bondesons stiftelse för rättssociologisk och kriminologisk forskning”. The project plan spans from 2018 to 2020.
