Department's bachelor's programme and online course among the most popular at Lund University

The Bachelor's Programme in Criminology and the Sociology of Law Basic Course Online were among Lund University's most applied-for programmes and courses for the autumn semester of 2024.

With 3,273 applications, the Bachelor's programme in Criminology had the most applicants of all the country's criminology programmes and courses for the seventh year running. The programme was the fifth most popular at Lund University according to the Swedish Council for Higher Education's admission statistics.

The Criminology programme in Lund is the only one that combines sociology of law and sociology. Students choose a focus area and are encouraged to study abroad and do internships.

The Sociology of Law Basic Course Online is again Lund University's second most applied for the stand-alone course with 1145 applicants, of which 110 were first-choice.

In total, 71,509 people applied to Lund University for the autumn term of 2024.
